Dans cet article publié aujourd'hui en première page, le Washington Post révèle que Barack Obama a «erré» en affirmant que la famille Kennedy avait joué un rôle dans l'arrivée de son père et de 80 autres étudiants kenyans aux États-Unis en septembre 1959. Je cite dans le texte ce que le sénateur de l'Illinois a déclaré à ce sujet il y a un an :
"So the Kennedys decided 'we're going to do an airlift. We're going to go to Africa and start bringing young Africans over to this country and give them scholarships to study so they can learn what a wonderful country America is.' This young man named Barack Obama got one of those tickets and came over to this country. He met this woman whose great-great-great-great-grandfather had owned slaves. . . . So they got together and Barack Obama Jr. was born."
Le camp Obama a reconnu que le programme d'aide évoqué par le sénateur de l'Illinois n'avait été mis en place qu'en 1960.
