Il y a un an, jour pour jour, je publiais ce billet depuis l'Iowa en attendant les résultats des caucus de cet État du Midwest, premier rendez-vous électoral d'une des campagnes présidentielles les plus passionnantes de l'histoire des États-Unis. C'était le poème de la soirée, Democracy, de Leonard Cohen, dont voici les paroles, une interprétation et un extrait :
