À peine 24 heures après avoir lancé sa campagne à la présidence, l'ancien sénateur républicain de Pennsylvanie Rick Santorum a renié son propre slogan électoral, Fighting to Make America America Again.
Santorum, un farouche adversaire de l'homosexualité, n'avait pas réalisé que ce slogan ressemblait un peu trop au titre d'un célèbre poème de Langston Hughes, écrivain afro-américain de gauche qui était probablement gai, Let America Be America Again. De toute façon, le candidat a dit n'avoir joué aucun rôle dans le choix de son slogan.
Quoi qu'il en soit, je publie un extrait du poème de Hughes :
Let America be America again.
